Jayasurya as playing the title character as Police Officer. IDI is the one of the biggest budget film done by Jayasurya in his career. Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam fame actress Shivada Nair will play the female lead in the movie. The soundtrack and background score is composed by Rahul Raj while Sujith Sarang handles the cinematography and is edited by Shameer Mohammed.IDI is a nice bit of word play on the Malayalam word "idi", meaning punch, and let's hope that the film delivers one.

The action-packed entertainer will see Jayasurya playing the role of Inspector Dawood Ibrahim.IDI story is about, Dawood Ibrahim(Jayasurya) a man from a wealthy family, who chooses to become a honest police officer to give back to his community and he whitewash all the goons from the city.
Actor Jayasurya will be seen in a different avatar in IDI despite having played a cop in films like Mumbai Police and Robinhood.Dawood(Jayasurya) has always dreamt of being a policeman, right from his childhood onwards. Once he becomes a police officer, though, he finds it difficult to reconcile his idealism for the khaki uniform with the day to day demands of the job.
IDI, marks the directorial debut of Sajid Yahiya and has its script written by Arouz Irfan and Sajid Yahiya.Both the Jayasurya movies have been hitting the headlines since they went on floors. The trailers of the movies have already raised the expectations of the audience with positive response pouring in from all quarters.
“Realistic movies are ruling theatres these days. Now, it is time for a break. Everything in IDI is make-believe, right from the hero to the plot but it is also so much fun,” says Sajid.
