Story of "Janatha Garage" is about an IIT graduate named Anand, (Junior NTR), who loves nature and encourages people to plant saplings. After completing his education, Anand starts with his uncle (Mohanlal) at his garage. His uncle was once a don in Mumbai and Anand learns about his past. How Anand takes on the people, who forced his uncle to settle down in Hyderabad, forms crux of the story.On the other hand, Mohanlal is a man who fights against any injustice to anybody. He rips apart against anybody trying to terrorise people. For some reason such an awesome man is forced to remain mute. He is hoping to find some strong man who can take up the mantle from him and be his right hand.

The audience say "Janatha Garage" is a routine revenge drama, but the director narrates this clichéd story with lots of twists and turns that make it an engaging watch. The first half of the film is average and it lacks entertainment quotient.
